Body Acne Treatments

Perhaps the question I get asked the most about body acne is how to treat it effectively. And this is exactly why I’m writing this article, because there are probably many people who are looking for the answer to that very same question.

There are several things that you can do, depending upon how serious your body acne is.

One thing that almost always can help to reduce the body acne a little bit is to take a shower every time after you sweat. It’s good and healthy to sweat, and that sweating can help to clean your pores, but afterwards you should take a shower, so that the old sweat doesn’t remain on your skin.

Most often, body acne appears on the chest, on the back, or on the shoulders. The reason for that is that these areas are the most affected by sweat.

Sometimes it can also help to change soaps or shower gels, because you might be allergic to some ingredient that is in them.

If you visit a dermatologist or a doctor, in most cases they will prescribe oral antibiotics for body acne. However, you should be aware that these treatments in many cases work, but they also can have quite some side effects.

If you prefer a natural body acne treatment, then you can take a cotton ball and soak it in lemon juice. You then use the cotton ball to spread the lemon juice over the affected areas of your body. One of the most common causes of acne is that you have excessive oil on your skin. Lemon juice is acidic and helps to get rid of excess oils. After you apply the lemon juice over the affected areas, it’s important that you give it some time to work its magic, so don’t wash it off immediately after work, but give it about 15 to 20 minutes.

Sometimes you will feel the stinging sensation, and sometimes your skin might become a little bit red. Just to be sure, you might want to try it all in a small area of your body first to see if there are any reactions, but a little bit of redness, and a little bit of stinging is fine, after all, there’s a certain amount of acid in lemon juice.

Your diet often plays a role when it comes to acne too. Are you eating a lot of processed foods, a lot of sugary foods with a lot of saturated fats? If so, try to include more fresh fruits and vegetables in your diet. Drinking lots of water also helps the body to get rid of waste products and toxins, that might otherwise clog up the pores of your skin.

Another thing that you can do is to apply apple cider vinegar to the affected areas. Same as with the lemon juice, just let it dry out and afterwards wash it off.

One thing that works particularly well for teenagers is to take fenugreek powder, turn it into a paste by mixing it with water and applying it to your chest, back or whatever part of your body is affected by acne. Leave it for about 30 minutes and then wash it off thoroughly with lukewarm water. Don’t use any kind of soap, just water. You should start to see improvements within a couple of days if you do this daily.
